Desk posture: adjust the chair before the shoulder hurts
Ergonomics starts with small changes
A low screen, an overly soft chair, or a laptop on the lap for hours are common causes of neck strain.

Shoulder pain often follows weeks of sitting poorly
The body can tolerate a temporary posture. When temporary becomes all day, the neck and lower back start to complain. Adjusting the chair and screen early is cheaper than waiting for pain.

Three checkpoints
Eyes meet the top third of the screen, elbows near 90 degrees, feet flat. If you use a laptop, add a stand and a separate keyboard for longer work.
A good chair does not replace standing up. It only makes the hours you must sit less costly.
